You’ll find a lot of varying advice when it comes to marketing copy for the Web. The truth is, there are no rules to marketing copy. You use whatever works, often changing and tweaking the message until you realize a maximum return.
First, if you do nothing else, get their attention. Once you have their eyes on your copy, you can pitch your message. The basics include identifying with the pain points and needs of the target audience, establishing your understanding of those problems and needs, and then offering the benefits of your product or service in solving those problems. While wording must be concise, that doesn’t mean it should be short. A B2B client will always prefer short copy, but B2C clients often find greater benefit from long form landing pages and sales letters. It all depends on your business and the demographics of your audience.
